Mokokchung, May 1 (MExN): The Power Department has informed that there will be scheduled shutdown of power supply in Mon district, Longleng district, and areas surrounding Tuli Subdivision from May 4 to 29. The power cuts have been scheduled from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm starting May 4, the Assistant Engineer (Trans), Transmission Division Mokokchung informed in a press release on Saturday.

The release stated that the power cuts have been necessitated to allow works for conversion of Single String 90KN Disc Insulator to Long Rod 120KN Polymer Insulator along the 66KV Mokokchung-Tuli and 66KV Nagnimora-Tizit Transmission line. “This is being done to strengthen 66KV Transmission Line from Mokokchung to Mon via Tuli-Naginimora-Tizit with the aim of providing stable power supply to Mon district,” it added. All the public in the affected districts and areas have been requested to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
